Alcohol is a little more readily available in Bay City thanks to the state's decision to allow Sunday sales. So far, just a handful of businesses have the permits, but there are plenty more expected.
Excerpt: Almost 20 business officials in Bay City have applied for a permit to sell alcohol on Sunday mornings, according to state officials.
Julie Wendt, director for executive services for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission, said four permits have been issued to businesses in Bay City, and 13 more applications are pending.
The permits allow businesses to sell alcohol from 7 a.m. to noon on Sundays, along with Christmas Day.
