Eric Sanchez has been hired by Southwest Michigan First to strengthen and develop relationships between the economic development organization and primary employers in the region. He will work with them on job creation and retention efforts.
As companies identify their needs in order to expand or to retain business, Sanchez and Southwest Michigan First will assist with access to capital, facilities acquisition, business incentives, talent development, cost management, diversification opportunities and leadership training.
Sanchez comes to Southwest Michigan First from Albion Economic Development Corporation, the economic development organization representing Albion, where he was assistant director.
His previous experience is in the areas of business growth, entrepreneurial assistance, incubation services and governmental collaboration.
Sanchez grew up in Comstock Township, near Kalamazoo, and he is a graduate of Western Michigan University.
"This is an exciting time to be a member of this team, given its outstanding staff, and strong partners within the community," says Sanchez.
Southwest Michigan First’s goal is to create jobs and wealth for the community and dramatically increase the bottom lines of the companies with which it partners.
