If you've been yearning to curl up with a plush Tony the Tiger, there's no reason to deny the kid in you any longer. In fact, the Battle Creek/Calhoun County Convention and Visitors Bureau is making it easy to satisfy that wish. They just became an official KelloggStore.com merchandise retailer.
The
Convention and Visitors Bureau now has its own shelves stocked with Sam the Fruit Loops Toucan, Tony the Tiger replicas and dishes, mugs and salt and pepper shakers bearing the likeness of other favorite Kellogg characters.
It's a mini version of the
online store that has even more Kellogg's tchotckes, with everything from cereal themed T-shirts and caps to figurines of Snap, Crackle and Pop.
Proceeds from the sale of Kellogg merchandise will to to Battle Creek Sports Promotion Economic Development Community Project Fund at the
Battle Creek Community Foundation to benefit young people in the community.
"The proceeds of the merchandise are supporting a local cause, and visitors and residents have the opportunity to purchase Kellogg Licensed memorabilia," says Linda Freybler, CEO of the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The merchandise is available through a partnership with TMP Company, the Kellogg Company, and the CVB.
The Battle Creek/Calhoun County Visitor and Convention Bureau was formed in 1979 and is the only organization that promotes Calhoun County regionally and nationally as a destination for business meetings, sporting events, and tourism-related activities.
The CVB is located at 77 E. Michigan Avenue, Suite 100, Battle Creek, in the Commerce Pointe Building. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday.
Community Project Funds, such as the Battle Creek Sports Promotion Economic Development, are nonendowed funds and are maintained by the Battle Creek Community Foundation for various projects, groups, and organizations.
