One of the leading online suppliers of softball and hardball equipment, Softball Fans Inc., has leased approximately 34,000 square feet at Midlink Business Park.
Softball Fans Inc. has brought together a 19,000-square-foot indoor training facility, 3,500 square feet of retail space, corporate offices and warehousing under one roof.
Both pitching and batting cages can be found in the training facility. The full practice infield is designed to attract players from area universities and amateur teams. The off-season indoor practice and training facility and trainers are available to individuals and recruitment camps.
Softball Fans Inc. ships items worldwide from its inventory of 10,000 units each day. It offers goods for sale on Amazon, eBay, Google and at its local storefront. The company specializes in high-end gear from such brands as Nike, Easton, Mizuno, Nokona, Rawlings and others.
Owner Bryan Knoll says a lot of research went into the decision that led to locating at Midlink Business Park in Comstock Township, east of Kalamazoo. "West Michigan has needed a quality facility for some time," Knoll says.
In return, David Smith, President of Midlink Business Park says they are looking forward to the expansion of retail operations at the business park and the added traffic Softball Fans Inc. will bring in.
Midlink Business Park offers two, state-of-the-art, multi-tenant industrial buildings totaling more than 1.6 million square feet of space. Also available is an 88-acre, build-to-suit industrial zone designed for single- and multi-tenant use.
Plans for the development include an additional 38-acre office campus and 41-acre retail area. The original 340-acre site, the former home of a GM tool and die-stamping plant, was renovated after Hackman Capital Partners purchased the property in 1999.
