Ribbon-cutting ceremony and public walkthroughs set for the historic St. Clair Inn

Saint Clair sure is a big deal around these parts.

That’s even more evident with the redevelopment of the historic St. Clair Inn, a massive restoration project that has taken several years and tens of millions of dollars to complete.

After a massive restoration, the St. Clair Inn is finally ready for its debut.While much has been made of the project over the course of construction--and not only locally but regionally, as well--the public finally has the opportunity to lay their own eyes, hands, and feet on the restored St. Clair Inn.

Beginning on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off a day of guided tours. Because the inn expects thousands to attend, they encourage guests to register online for preferred tour times.

Though officials, dignitaries, and members of the press have had the opportunity to step inside the building, the ribbon-cutting ceremony and public walkthrough events mark the first time that the public will get to experience the new inn.

Though no names have been released, officials say that dignitaries from both Lansing and Washington, D.C. have been invited to offer their remarks.

The walkthroughs will feature staff-led guided tours of both the inside and outside grounds of the inn. Services and amenities It's nearly time to unveil the beauty of the new St. Clair Inn.will be highlighted. There will be a public unveiling of artwork. Also promised are display set-ups for high tea and banquets, and some surprises by the new executive chef and pastry chef.

The St. Clair Inn first opened its doors in 1926. In 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The St. Clair Inn is located at 500 N. Riverside Ave. in St. Clair.
