Sperry’s Arcadehouse offers new option for entertainment in Port Huron

One of downtown Port Huron’s newest attractions offering nostalgia and arcade-style entertainment recently opened to the public.

Patrons flooded Sperry's Arcadehouse shortly after its grand opening on Thursday, firing up classic arcade games such as Space Invaders, Galaga, and Pac-Man. Visitors can enjoy Guitar Hero, any of the 12 classic Pinball games, or even take on challengers at an air hockey table. Another feature of the Arcadehouse, Pandora’s Box Gaming system, has about 3,000 different games available.

Mikayla Jarratt of Sperry’s marketing team dubbed the building, “Your one-stop shop for fun.”

The Arcadehouse is located in the basement of Sperry's Moviehouse on the corner of Huron Avenue in downtown Port Huron. All under one roof, the building offers several entertainment options beyond the Arcadehouse with a movie theater as well as a restaurant located on the second floor.

“I think adding the arcade now makes this entire building something that you can come to and spend the entire day with your family,” says Michael Reid, who has ownership of Sperry’s Moviehouse.

The Arcadehouse also offers a bar that serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as food such as walking tacos, appetizers, or funnel cake fries.

“It’s great to have somewhere that families can go, hang out, and get some great drinks and food,” says Hannah Houston, bartender at Sperry’s Arcadehouse.

Another feature is the option to rent out rooms in the basement. For $25 an hour, customers can host parties in the Arcadehouse and Reid shared that there will soon be trading card tournaments held in the space as well.

The arcade’s current hours are Monday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday through Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Visit sperrysmoviehouse.com/Arcadehouse or facebook.com/sperrysmoviehouse to stay informed about news and current offerings.
