Demand for the new Crunch Fitness gym in Dearborn was so great that they opened ahead of schedule. Crunch opened its doors May 14, well ahead of the July grand opening celebration for the $2.5 million, 30,000 sq. ft. facility.
That’s a good sign for owners James Wiese and Adam Hourani. The partners plan on opening 25 Crunch Fitness locations throughout metro Detroit. The first opened in Westland in 2017. Dearborn is the second location. And a third has since opened in Farmington Hills.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 12, and is free and open to the public. Festivities include free food, music, and games. There will be giveaways and discounts on club memberships. Also planned is a giveaway contest for a $10,000 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
"We’re trying to go all out and give everyone an experience," says Crunch general manager Daniel Pasquariello. "We want to create a culture of the entertainment industry. We want to make sure that we’re the best part of a person’s day."
Crunch specializes in group training and fitness classes. Additional amenities include free weights, a spinning studio, tanning, hydro-massage, and more.
The gym also offers up to two hours of on-site child care, allowing patrons to drop their kids off while they go exercise. It’s a popular feature, says Pasquariello.
"Dearborn is perfect for us. Look at the demographics. Look at the location; we’re right in the heart of town," he says. "And we’re family-oriented. There are so many families here."
Crunch Fitness is located at 5601 Mercury Dr. in Dearborn.
