Sterling Heights' cultural backgrounds were on full display for the city's annual Diversity Dinner this year. Residents from all over the city gathered for an evening of culture and connection on September 25 at the Century Banquet Center on Maple Lane.

Andrew Humphrey, Emmy award-winning meteorologist and reporter at WDIV-TV Local 4, was the keynote speaker for the evening. He spoke about why diversity is not just important in society, but in daily lives.

The Memorial Signing Choir made several appearances, keeping the crowd amused.

Nala Williams performed an impressive dance recital.

Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor welcomed guests and spoke about the many cultures that make up the city.

The event was organized by the city's Ethnic Community Committee, and chairperson Willie Dechavez gave a heart-felt thanks to sponsors and supporters.
