Airfoil continues to grow, diversify client roster

Metromode recently wrote about the growth Airfoil Public Relations saw in 2006 – from 36 to 48 employees. Well, the first half of 2007 has been no different, with the high-tech PR firm having added 8 more for a total of 56 employees.

Vice President Eric Kushner credits their continued expansion to its "interesting client roster." He points out that they serve three markets: blue chips industry leaders, such as Microsoft, Best Buy and Starbucks, start-ups as well as "companies that been around for a few years, have a proven business model, and are now all about scaling."

The Southfield company has just announced two significant hires and one promotion. Rich Donley, and 18-year veteran of the business, has been brought on as an account director. Kushner notes that his particular specialty will be automotive and manufacturing, crediting his "acumen" in that industry.

Amy Bryson also joins the team. A native of Southeast Michigan working for Fishman PR in Chicago, Bryson took the opportunity to move back to Michigan and work for Airfoil.

Finally, Ried Artis has been promoted to account supervisor. She relocated from San Francisco and a job with Dolby just last summer as part of the firm's 2006 growth. Kushner says, "Similar to Amy, Reid had roots here in Southeast Michigan. She was looking for an opportunity to come back and was pleasantly surprised to be able to do high tech PR."
