Under an agreement announced Monday, EDS will host Daimler Financial Services data at centers in Auburn Hills and Sacramento, Calif.
"We're very excited about the growth," says EDS spokeswoman Annabelle Baxter.
Baxter says the move will create a number of IT positions at the Auburn Hills facility, but couldn't give an estimate.
"We'll be looking at growing over the next six months," she says. "And as we start up the account, we'll definitely be adding IT (jobs)."
The transition/management includes consolidating and hosting approximately 150 midrange servers, mainframe computers and data storage.
EDS currently employs about 6,700 people in southeast Michigan.
