When you're a company on the grow, it's best to stretch two ways at once.
That's exactly what's happening at Ann Arbor's Beyond Interaction, called Beyond Interactive until recently.
Founded at the start of the dot-com bonanza, Beyond Interaction's new media advertising team was able to harness the capabilities of the Internet in the way few other businesses were doing, crafting the software that's now standard for online data collection.
Now owned by the WPP Group, Beyond took a hit when the dot-com bubble burst, moving their headquarters to New York City. But the company retained a strong presence in Ann Arbor, says spokesman Gary Evans.
And now, the company is charged with designing the latest iteration of the Media Advanced Reporting System, or MARS, a business intelligence solution that will be used in WPP offices around the world. Also significant, Evans says, are several major local contracts Beyond has recently acquired.
All told, Evans says, the company has hired about six new employees in the last six months, and is planning to add an undetermined number of employees in the months ahead.
All those positions, Evans says, are data engineer jobs.
