Compuware acquires Mass. based firm Gomez

Detroit's Compuware continues its growth, both at home and across the U.S.

Compuware, the downtown-based software firm, has grown with its recent acquisition of Massachusetts-based Gomez.

Gomez is a consulting firm that looks at a company's web and mobile applications and its delivery chains from a customer's point of view. Gomez uses a software as a service model to deliver its service and will incorporate it with Compuware's similar application.

Compuware is paying $295 million for Gomez, and the deal is expected to close in November. Gomez employs 272 people world wide, but most of them are in its Lexington, Mass. headquarters. Those employees will be brought under the Compuware banner, but remain in their current location.
