GlobalAutoIndustry.com rebounds by adding events to its repertoire

Ron Hesse worked for years in the automotive industry, helping other firms with international issues. In 1996 he left his job of helping a few at a time to doing much more when he started GlobalAutoIndustry.com, a news and event resource for international business expertise.

"If I could help one company, I could help more with the same type of stuff," says Hesse, president & CEO of GlobalAutoIndustry.com.

GlobalAutoIndustry.com grew steadily right from its launch and has continued to do so, even through the onset of Michigan's long downturn. Then the Great Recession hit in 2008 and Hesse's firm took it on the chin.

Since then GlobalAutoIndustry.com has reinvented itself and its business model, such as putting on more events and making them available on its site. The company has held 175 events on a number of different topics.

"We see tremendous opportunities for our firm," Hesse says. "It allows our customers to access them at anytime."

Capitalizing on these new opportunities has allowed Troy-based GlobalAutoIndustry.com to grow rapidly over the last 18 months. It has rounded out its staff to five employees and 5-10 independent contractors. The company plans to continue to diversify its offerings and surpass its pre-recession revenues this year.
