Walled Lake-based Patriot Services is done dividing. It's just looking to conquer now.
The public safety-consultng firm has experienced rapid growth since Stephen Potter and Thomas Quisenberry founded it four years ago. They went to five employees and five contractors in 2006 to a current roster of nine full-time employees, six part-time and 20 contractors.
That growth is courtesy the 60 percent revenue growth it experienced last year and the 100 percent growth its in line for this year. The company expects to add 2 to 3 more employees, 5 to 6 more contractors and start an internship program with Michigan State University’s Criminal Justice program. It’s currently interviewing people for a Department of Defense contract right now.
"We want to expand geographically and take on more government contracts," Potter says.
The company already has offices in Indianapolis and Cincinatti and is aiming to spread its footprint farther across the U.S. The firm does this by helping government bodies from the local level to the feds and private companies prepare for things like natural disasters and terrorist attacks.
Both have extensive experience in those areas. Potter is a former Army ranger and MP, while Quisenberry is a recently retired undersheriff at the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. They both worked as public-safety consultants for Plante Moran before forming Patriot Services.
That’s when they decided to strike out on their own and conquer the business world.
