Rave Computer Association has had its ups and downs over the last 20 years. The Sterling Heights-based computer company has gone from start up with dozens of employees to nearly bursting with the rest of the dotcom bubble.
"We had to rebuild ourselves after the dotcom bubble burst, but we weathered the storm," says Doris Block-Tomlinson, vice president of business development for Rave Computer.
And business is going well now. The firm has grown to 35 people and expects to add a couple more jobs as the market increases.
"We're always looking for talent," Block-Tomlinson says.
In the mean time its putting the talent it has to good use. The company mostly does work with the branches of service for the U.S. Military, OEM and other software companies. It does things like service laptops so they can be integrated with other small systems.
It has done a lot of this work for the Air Force and Army's equipment, like Humvees. The company also is planning to do more in the civilian sector, such as doing similar work with cat scan and CT machines.
