Secure-24 has bucked a few trends.
Founders Matthias Horch and Volker Straub, after building a successful IT business in Germany, migrated to Southeast Michigan in 2001 and founded the company -- another successful IT business, one that hosts business-critical applications, disaster recovery and services for information security.
Yeah, they moved
here.
It seems to have worked. Secure-24 has experienced 100% or more year-to-year growth for each of the past seven years. "Our competitive advantage is very simple. We focus on providing a truly premium level of service with a tight focus on compliance," said Straub in a statement. "Quite a few companies can provide complex services, but Secure-24 provides an unmatched level of responsiveness and customization -- we stand by our clients 24 hours a day."
Such growth, as would be expected, has led to job creation at the firm's Southfield headquarters. Company ranks have increased from 14 to 65 over the past three years. "We plan to add another 15 or so in next month or two," says Matthew Wenzler, the firm's vice president of sales. "I would not be surprised if we don't double our ranks with in the next 12 months." At present they are actively seeking professionals in the SAP Basis and Oracle DBA disciplines.
Secure-24's head-quarters will stay in Michigan, although the company operates high-tech secure warehousing California and Arizona, as well as the one here.
The company serves financial, manufacturing, health care and automotive industries among others. It was also named to the
2007 Inc. 500, one of less than a dozen Michigan companies to be so designated.
