When Technology Solutions LLC set up shop in 1995, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology was still years in the making. The Livonia-based company, President Steven Futrell says, sold voice communication equipment.
But as new technologies emerged, Technology Solutions kept up. It's a strategy that's paid off for the company, with 41 percent growth last year, the launch of a data solutions division, a new partnership and plans to add three more people to the company's staff of 10.
"We have just brought in a company by the name of Net Solutions," Futrell says. "We brought them into the Technology Solutions world so we can continue to offer premier data support to the end user."
The data division, he says, focuses on smaller clients, typically the kind of business with 100 computers or less.
The positions Technology Solutions needs to fill immediately are technical, Futrell says, but the company will hire an additional sales person as well. New tech, Futrell says, is driving market demand.
"These days it's not just voice but data - people need one system that can do both," he says. "And we're finding growth when you add it all up."
