A government initiative designed to help agribusiness and farmers deal with government bureaucracy is offering those business owners an array of services.

The Department of Agriculture launched the initiative last month - just 100 days after Director Don Koivisto took the reins - to simplify the daunting task farmers and agri-business owners sometimes face in finding the right specialist. State officials say the program will spur economic growth and keep Michigan's agriculture industry moving forward. "We think there's more potential for agriculture here and we felt we could do more for entrepreneurs," Koivisto said. "If someone had an initiative and was too intimidated by the red tape, they can contact the A-Team and ask for help. That's half the battle."
