Detroit has endured a lot of hooey in the press and its inglorious portrayal is age-old news. But in our Twittery society, situations change as fast as Tiger Woods' date calendar – in Detroit's case, at least, for the better.
 
Today, news orgs are outing some of the best and most provocative scoops this underrated region has on offer. And, in a literal ode to citizen journalism, a well-respected national magazine moved a team of reporters and bloggers into Detroit city in 2009. Let the (deservedly) good headlines roll.
