PONTIAC, MICH. - Oct. 28, 2008 - ePrize, the Pleasant
Ridge-based worldwide leader in interactive promotions, has been
awarded $100,000 in work force training funds to help its employees
meet the growing needs of the company.
The award, which was announced Tuesday by Oakland County Executive L.
Brooks Patterson, is part of the $1 million assigned to Oakland County
Workforce Development and its Michigan Works! program under the U.S.
Department of Labor's Workforce Investment Act. The Incumbent Worker
Training Program helps local companies train and develop their existing
employees. It will affect about 250 employees.
"This is another incentive Oakland County provides to attract and
retain top notch companies," Patterson said. "ePrize is the largest
company of its kind in the world and is recognized as world leader.
It's especially important in economic times like these to assist
companies like ePrize reach their full potential. We're committed to
their success in Oakland County."
ePrize is the largest Internet company in Michigan. The company has 350
employees worldwide including 275 in Michigan. Besides its local
office, ePrize has offices in New York, Chicago, Dallas, London and Los
Angeles. It was recently named as one of southeast Michigan's Top 101
Places to Work.
The company has created more than 5,000 promotions since 1999. Its clients include 74 of the top 100 brands.

It is the third in three years ePrize has been given work force
training grants, which total about $300,000. In the past the grants
have been used for leadership development, professional development and
for customized training sessions tailored for the company. The training
has been provided in partnership with Oakland Community College, the
University of Michigan and New Horizons. The grant was made through the
Ferndale Career Center.

The Oakland County Workforce Development program assisted 29 companies
