Metro Detroit honeybee lovers are buzzing about a new workshop on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m:  "Bee Sweet: The Buzz About Honey."

The workshop is presented by beekeeper Rich Wieske, a bee activist and educator who's affiliated with City Bees Detroit and Green Toe Gardens. Wieskie will teach the ins and outs of keeping bees and the process of producing honey. Several kinds of Michigan-made honey will also be available on purchase.

If you haven't seen Wieske on local TV, he believes in organic methods, especially chemical and treatment-free beekeeping. The workshop is $10 per person and includes light refreshments. Reservations are required.

Goldner Walsh Garden & Home is located at 559 Orchard Lake Rd. in Pontiac.
