Doug Rothwell, president of the Detroit Renaissance, Inc., wrote a letter to
Crain's Detroit Business says that an aerotropolis could be the turning point for the region.
Excerpt:
Our airports are some of the greatest assets we can leverage to attract
new jobs and the first impression people have of our community.
A
thriving aerotropolis could create 64,000 new jobs and generate over
$10 billion of additional annual economic activity. The creation of the
ADC ensures that, regardless of change in political administration or
leadership, the aerotropolis initiative will continue to move forward.
This could be an important turning point for our region.
