Less than two years after Michigan voters lifted restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research, some of the industry's biggest scientists, policy makers, and business leaders will converge in Detroit.

The World Stem Cell Summit is expected to draw 1,200 representatives from 30 countries Oct. 4 through 6, 2010, offering a networking flashpoint for leaders of a growing industry that could bring countless jobs and research opportunities to a state in the middle of economic transformation.
