Online Technologies finishes build out of Ann Arbor Data Center

Online Technologies Corporation has completed a $150,000 build-out to expand data center and network capacity at its primary data center in Ann Arbor.

The build-out provided additional network capacity, specialized air conditioning systems, power transformers and uninterruptible power supplies. The build-out is expected to improve Online Technologies’ services by providing additional capacity and enabling a new backup service.

Company officials said Southeast Michigan ’s burgeoning high-tech community is driving the demand for additional network capacity.

“The local economic development activity is paying off,” said Ty Myers, Vice President of Sales for Online Technologies. “We’re seeing a surge in demand in this region from the area’s growing Internet-based companies.”

Online Technologies supports and is joined by more than 40 innovative, technology-based companies which have relocated, expanded or started in the Ann Arbor area within the last five years.

“The Ann Arbor region has created an economic climate that is establishing Michigan as the location for tech savvy companies,” said Michael A. Finney, CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK, which works to development of innovation-based businesses in the Ann Arbor region.
