Work on the restoration of a storefront façade on 309 and 309 S. State St. in downtown Ann Arbor is complete and almost all of the space in the building is leased out.
The façade on the 1920-building was pulling away from the actual structure. This prompted a $100,000 face lift to the exterior. The old brick in the façade was removed so it could be reattached. The façade’s brick and other details were salvaged, cleaned and reinstalled to maintain the building’s historic character. Ann Arbor-based 360 Design handled the architecture for the restoration.
About 2,000 square feet of retail space at 307 S. State is still available for lease. The other half of the first floor, 309 S. State St., has been leased, along the office space on the second floor. The building originally housed mixed retail on the first floor and residential space on the second floor when it was built.
