Coworking space to celebrate grand opening in downtown Northville

A new coworking space is celebrating its grand opening Thursday, Jan. 17 in Northville’s historic downtown.

Located across from Ford Field Park and the Mill Race Historical Village, Amity Coworking has been up and running under a soft-opening since Nov. 28, 2018.

The Grand Opening event, which runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., will feature drinks, appetizers, and tours of the facility.

"We opened Amity Coworking in Downtown Northville because not only is it a fantastic opportunity for both local and transient professionals to help clients through its central location, but there’s also a need for this type of space in Northville," says Amity Coworking community manager, Gabrielle Guthrie.

Present are many of the amenities one would expect at a modern coworking space. Those include modern technologies, private meeting spaces, personal mailing addresses, and more.

One notable difference is that Amity is open 24 hours a day.

The company has put an emphasis on design, hiring local architecture and design firm inform Studio to shape the space. The facility is described as industrial chic, fitting then since Amity occupies the space of a former Ford automotive plant.

Visitor day passes and several month-to-month memberships are available.

"As small businesses continue to be on the rise, there are several startups popping up with nowhere for them to settle if they don’t want or need a brick and mortar facility," says Guthrie.

"Not only are we providing somewhere for new local entrepreneurs and small businesses to make their home, we’ve also created a unique touchdown point for those who are more mobile and commuting between cities in the region."

Amity Coworking is located at 235 E. Main St., Ste. 105B, in downtown Northville.
