$7.7M gift will expand and improve WSU's chemistry building

A former professor, A. Paul Schapp, has gifted Wayne State University with $7.77 million that will be used to expand and improve the Chemistry Building.

Building improvements will include
the construction of an office suite for the department chair, a state-of-the art lecture hall and, perhaps most importantly, the creation of a common space. "It's a good science building, but there is no public space, no gathering space, no atrium," says Schaap. "On the Cass Ave. side, we want to add something to the front of building with a lot of windows."
