Beaumont opens Infusion Center in Sterling Heights

Beaumont Hospital continues to grow bigger now that is has opened a new Infusion Center in Sterling Heights.

The new 10,000-square-foot facility straddles the border between Sterling Heights and Troy, next to Troy Beaumont Hospital. About 35 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff will occupy the building.

"It essentially offers 10,000 square feet to infuse patients from an infant to an adult receiving chemotherapy," says Michael Bartz, administrative director for Beaumont Infusion Pharmacy.

The Infusion Center provides a full spectrum of care for both short- and long-term procedures. It's intended for outpatient treatment and people who don't require hospitalization.

The new building has a few environmentally friendly features, such as native landscaping that is drought resistant and comes with a moisture-sensing irrigation system. About 65 percent of the office's furniture comes from recycled content. Many of the building materials also came from recycled resources.
