Investors and developers wanted to join free bus tour of Detroit sites

Redevelopment opportunities will be featured on a free, VIP bus tour the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. is holding the afternoon of Monday, May 5, in conjunction with the national Brownfields 2008 summit going on in Detroit next week.

The tour is for investors, developers and financial institutions interested in opportunities to reclaim brownfields for development in the city of Detroit. The tour will include 30 sites, including many that are ready to be developed. The tour will also feature stops at successful ventures, like the Westin Book Cadillac hotel and the Morgan Estates developments.

Representatives of the EPA, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and City of Detroit Department of Environmental Affairs will be on hand, as well.

"We wanted to target a specific group ... including investors," says Mary Grace Wilbert, a DTE Energy principal account manager who does retail attraction work for the city.

To attend the bus tour, contact Wilbert at 313-231-4631, or by e-mail at at wilbertm@dteenergy.com. Space is limited.
