MSHDA creates incentives for alt-energy improvements

Making Michigan's homes greener is about to get cheaper.

The Michigan State Housing Development Authority has started a program that will allow local residents to borrow up to $50,000 to make alternative energy efficiency improvements to their homes. Such loans are already available for traditional improvements energy-efficiency improvements like insulation and upgraded windows through MSHDA's Property Improvement Program.

Homeowners must have household incomes less than $74,500. Landlords can also take advantage of these loans, up to $100,000, with eligible rent limits.
