Art-centric business, hookah bar opening in Mt. Clemens

Mt. Clemens is going hip. Staking its claims as a unique destination, four new businesses are opening up in the central business district.

Art-rageous Gallery is getting ready to open this month at the corner of Main and Macomb streets. The gallery is an artist's retail co-op. Complimenting the new art gallery, and not far away, is the Rivers of Glass, 123 S Main. The glass-blowing studio and glass-art gallery opened in December.

But artists need a place to relax just as much as they need a place to work. Two more bars, one for drinking and another for smoking, are in the process of opening to accommodate that. Cloud 9, a hookah/oxygen bar, is receiving final city approvals and hopes to open later this year at 51 N Walnut. The Bank, a new bar on South Main, is also looking to open later this year.
