Sustainable architecture forum set for Tuesday at Lawrence Tech

Lawrence Technological University is hosting a discussion Tuesday about sustainable architecture and how it can help transform Michigan's economy.

A handful of experts will speak about the economic and societal trends driving the shift toward sustainable architecture, the latest in university research, the branding of Michigan as a "green belt" and economic development opportunities.

The forum will also provide information on how businesses can make their work places 'greener'. Those will range from designing green features to remodeling and retrofitting.

The speakers include Lawrence Tech’s dean of the College of Architecture and Design, its director of Center for Sustainability, the director of sustainability for A3C Collaborative Architects in Ann Arbor and a business owner who utilized green building practices.

The free event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Tech’s UTLC gallery, 21000 W 10 Mile Road in Southfield. For information, click here.
