Ann Arbor-based MacBeedon Partners LLC announced the creation of EdgeHealth LLC, a health care company that is focused on products for neuro-muscular rehabilitation and training.
With four current full-time employees and an advisory panel comprised of University of Michigan employees, the company's first product is targeted to treat a wide range of neuro-muscular dysfunctions, including pain and motion restriction. Teaming with Norwegian firm Record AS the company hopes to provide a fully developed product and integrated conditioning system that will provide a full and convenient access to a new treatment option.
Using elastic cords and pulleys, the device used isolates and treats neuro-muscular problems and motion restrictions. According to the company's marketing manager Melissa Heike, their research showed that 12 out of 20 people that used it felt instantaneous improvements.
Heike says EdgeHealth is currently in the process of expanding their operations, with the number of new hires dependant upon sales of the new product.
Heading up the company is MacBeedon Founder and CEO Richard Beedon and partner Kevin Wittrup. For more information, visit www.macbeedon.com.
