Ann Arbor logistics startup on track for 3rd year of 100% growth

Ann Arbor-based LLamasoft reports that revenues for 2007 are on track to reach $2.5 million, a 50% increase over last year. The software and logistics company has seen steady growth over the last three years, doubling revenues with each anniversary.

Founded in 1998, LLamasoft was briefly owned Ann Arbor's Crystallize (now Applimation) before it struck out on its own. In 2002 it started marketing supply chain network software and landed Unilever as its first big client after the corporate giant discovered them on the web.

The company develops cutting edge simulation and optimization techniques that help companies strategize supply chain deliveries and stock inventory.

LLamasoft contracts with companies like Frito-Lay, Dell, General Mills, ConocoPhillips, and, most recently JC Penny. The 15 employee startup has added 5 positions since January and with additional contracts may increase those numbers yet again.
