Detroit may send cars to LA but LA is about to send a few jobs the Motor City's way.
Los Angeles-based Bunkspeed, a provider of 3-D renderings, is setting up an office in Royal Oak and looking to hire.
The new automotive and transportation division is looking for technical and sales employees. The idea is to give the company a presence in the automotive industry and other local markets. The company's portfolio includes big local names, such as Ford and Chrysler.
"To succeed in the automotive industry, you have to be present," says Michael Check, president of the new division. "Email and phone calls aren’t enough. The Automotive and Transportation Division will provide the Bunkspeed brand of highly personalized service."
Bunkspeed provides CG imagery to the automotive industry primarily to make 3-D objects in CAD programs. That sort of work allows them to create digital models that can be transformed into graphics for Web, print, and television ads.
