Danotek to double staff next year

Danotek Motion Industries LLC is generating more than power - the company will double its eight-member staff in the next year, adding a total of 141 employees over the next five years, says business manager Carla Glaze.

The company makes permanent magnet generators, power control electronics and brushless motors for power generation industries and advance automotive applications.

The company is also relocating from Ann Arbor to a larger facility in Pittsfield Township, Glaze says - the scale of the generators means Danotek requires more space.

"The move will happen first quarter of next year, so fairly soon," she says. "In terms of the hiring... we're slated to at least double in the next year."

The positions Danotek will fill range from technical to engineering to professional and administrative, but "focused mainly on the technical," Glaze says. "In addition, we'll be hiring people to do assembly and manufacturing."

The company has received a $2.3 million state tax abatement, and is expected to receive a $41,600, seven-year tax credit from Pittsfield Township.

Danotek is in a win-win situation, she says - one of few companies building permanent magnet generators, a fast-growing field.
