Defense industry bolsters Michigan businesses

War may be hell, but it's also lucrative - Crain's Detroit Business reports that the business of war is pouring millions of dollars into the Michigan economy.

Excerpt: Each additional $50,000 of investment through a defense contract translates theoretically into one Michigan job, the (Defense Contract Coordination Center) estimates. If the program meets its goal, that would mean 9,000 new or retained jobs over the next few years, based on contracts secured during the 2007-08 fiscal year.
