Founders of Wireless Toyz and Plexus win awards in entrepreneurial contest

Two of the nine winners in the "2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year" competition's Central Great Lakes region were locals. Joe Barbat, chairman and founder of Wireless Toyz in Farmington Hills and Rober Beatty, chairman and founder of Plexus Systems, Inc. were both winners in their respective categories. Barbat topped the business services category and Beatty in IT software.

Central Great Lakes Region award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. Nov. 17.
