European software company Facton opened a branch in Auburn HIlls late last year, but the company is already on track for rapid growth.
Ray Wagner, vice president of marketing and communications, says Facton's University Drive facility employs between eight and 10 people, not including the partners who work with the company. The company, based in Germany, employs about 70 worldwide.
"In the next year, it's hard to predict, but we may be looking, at maximum, doubling where we're at right now," Wagner says.
Facton is a product lifecycle software solutions provider. If you don't have a clue what that means, try this: Facton helps companies enhance their profitability by managing profit margins and reducing product costs.
It's a function that's been embraced by companies worldwide - Facton's clients include Airbus, Porsche, Siemens, Bentley and Behr, to name a few.
New hires at Facton, Wagner says, will likely be folks with IT capability, business know-how and sales or training experience.
Wagner says Oakland County and state officials worked hard to bring Facton to Michigan.
