As Michigan has learned that it needs to diversify its economic engines to include industries outside the automotive in recent years, so has Forest Post Productions.
The multi-media firm relied mostly on auto-centric clients 10 years ago. Today it has enjoyed success with a diversified client base that includes other local heavy hitters in the business world, like Quicken Loans and the DMC.
"We just have different types of clients today than we had 10 years ago," says Steve Schutte, a production manager for Forest Post Productions.
It has also diversified the type of content and services it offers, helping branch out into more of the editing and graphic work for video and websites. It's helped the 25-year-old firm grow to 24 people with plans to hire a few more in the near future.
"As we have gotten more technical tools we have gotten more technical work," Schutte says.
Courtesy of those cool new tools Forest Post helped produce a Chevrolet ad in New York City's Times Square. The ad shows video of a clock that changes faces but continues to tell time.
