Gongos creates new division, 14 jobs in Auburn Hills

Gongos Research is adding so many jobs lately that it's also creating whole new divisions.

The Auburn Hills-based firm has hired 14 full-time employees so far this year, expanding its staff to 100 people and four interns. That's up from a staff of 85 employees and four interns when we last checked in with the company in February.

"Our plan is to add another 6-8 full-time positions by the end of the year," says Susan Scarlet, a spokeswoman for Gongos Research.

Housing a big part of this growth is the firm's new Financial & Diversified team. So far that new division has accounted for 15 percent of the company's revenue. It hopes to even up with the company's other three teams at 25 percent each by the end of the year.

"We're starting out small, but I anticipate that it will grow," says Katherine Ephlin, who is heading up the new team.

Gongos Research conducts consumer research for businesses, including the likes of Domino's Pizza and GM. One of the ways it does this is through polls, surveys, and dialogues within consumer online research communities. That information helps tailor ad campaigns, new products, or even menu items.

The company has also watched its revenue grow significantly, too. Revenue was $13.22 million in 2009 and is projected at $17 million this year. Further growth is expected.
