Google official still upbeat, plans to hire 1,000 remain intact

Grady Burnett, head of online sales and operations for Google's Ann Arbor office, spoke to a crowd of 300 at the Ann Arbor News' annual economic outlook luncheon on Mar. 20 about his company's entrepreneurial spirit and his positive outlook about the area's prospects.

He cited the presence of the University of Michigan and a well-educated work force as great reasons for Google to be here.

"I think there are tremendous entrepreneurial ideas here that can blossom and give people opportunities to challenge themselves,'' Burnett said.
