Guardian Automotive has opened a new distribution center for windshield
parts in Plymouth Township, which will initially employ 6 with the
potential to grow to 15.

The company chose the site because of its proximity to expressways.
It's near Plymouth Road, between Haggerty Road and Interstate 275.
"We opened up to fill a need in the market," [spokeswoman Amy] Hennes said.
Revenue from Guardian's aftermarket business has been growing, she
said. The privately held company would not release a specific figure.
The building is a shell, and the interior is being fitted for
Guardian this summer. It's been empty for several years, and Guardian
is the first tenant. Hennes would not estimate the dollar value of the
investment.
