Interactive Capacity Gateway turns online logistics into Metro Detroit jobs

Getting your package from Point A to Point B isn't always as easy as you might think. Especially for smaller businesses. Good thing Interactive Capacity Gateway is developing new logistics technology to assist those businesses with whatever challenges might arise.

The Southfield-based company, a spin-off of NLM, creates online software that helps companies manage logistics. NLM already sells its software to large companies, but Interactive Capacity Gateway's technology is made so smaller firms can access it through the Internet.

"We want to give a small- to medium-sized business the opportunity to access our software," says Jim Applegate, vice president of business development for Interactive Capacity Gateway.

Right now the 8-month-old firm is focusing on making this technology to a core group of users that already do business with NLM. Once it has worked more of the bugs out it plans to create firmer growth plans and expectations to add to its employee base.
