IteroText turn language barriers into job opportunities

Language barriers are more like language opportunities for IteroText Translation Services.

The Bloomfield Township-based firm specializes in translating documents for companies looking to take their products into markets where the languange is 'Greek' to them. Think of things like the some-assembly-required instructions dear old dad struggles with every Christmas eve.

IteroText makes sure those directions are clear and concise, along with generating documents like training manuals or TPS reports. It can translate them to all modern business languages and some that aren't so familiar to modern-day Americans.

"And if we haven't done it we have the resources to do it," says Beverly Cornell, director of marketing and sales for IteroText.

The 35-year-old company is quite good at translation, growing 20 percent in the last year. That translates into hiring about 50 new subcontractors around the world to create a staff of 300 subcontractors and 10 in-house employees.

The company expects to grow another 20 percent this year, while adding one or two new in-house staffers and another 50 subcontractors.
