Six years ago five people formed what is now Kinetic, a media company that specializes in everything from audio to high-end animation.
"We all joined together from other post houses and created Kinetic," says Lisa Grosso, vice president and director of sales for Kinetic. "We all wanted to start our own place."
And start they have. In six short years Southfield-based Kinetic has grown to 22 employees and hopes to add another person or two in the near future. However, Grosso says whoever they do add will be about as important as the original six.
"We hire because the need is there," Grosso says. "We don't grab people willy nilly. Everybody is valuable."
The company's work shows it. Kinetic has done everything from commercials for Jiffy Lube to touch screen applications in the Warner Center in New York City. It is also creating full episodes of Wonder Pets for Nickelodeon.
The company hopes to take on my TV work as it grows and plans to add on some expert animation artists to accommodate that work when it comes in.
