MIST Innovations is booming in downtown Detroit. The security camera-to-your-cell phone company has recently hired 16 people and expects to add another dozen.

MIST Innovations has seen tremendous growth since moving downtown in 2007.

The company develops software that allows people to watch security cameras from cell phones. The business had two employees when it moved downtown in 2007. Today it has 18 (a majority of which are city residents) and it hopes to add up to a dozen more within 18 months.
