Oakland County events focus on small business growth

August is small business owners month in Oakland County, or at least it seems that way from the two workshops to be held at the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center.

The workshops include "Fiscal Fitness for the Growing Business" (Aug. 26) and "FastTrac Listening to your Business" (Aug 28). Fiscal Fitness is a one-on-one, confidential, financial management consulting process designed to strengthen financial literacy and improve capital access. Think of it as a crash course about business finances and funding from a private tutor for CEOs of businesses at least two years old.

FastTrac focuses on creating and sticking to a long-term vision, goals, and strategy while still maintaining the day-to-day responsibilities of running a business.

Both events will be held between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Fiscal Fitness will be held at Fifth Third Bank, 1000 Town Center, in Southfield. Registration costs $75 and can be done here. FastTrac will be in the Oakland County Business Center - Executive Office Building in Waterford. Admission costs $95. For information, click here or call (734) 487-0355.
