Wild Pitch acquires Oak Park's RingSide Creative

Wild Acquisitions, a partnership between Steve Wild (founder and former president of Grace & Wild Studios), Brian Efrusy (RingSide Creative's CFO) and Chicago-based creative agency Cutters, has acquired RingSide Creative with a plan to gain a foothold in the Metro Detroit market. Wild Acquisitions plans to maintain RingSide Creative's Oak Park office and potentially grow it in the future.

"We were a very bright beacon for attracting extraordinary creative opportunities," says Doug Cheek, founder & former CEO of RingSide Creative. "Now we are an incredibly bright beacon."

Cheek will stay on in the new venture with an executive position. He says the office will maintain its 70-person staff and potentially add more in the future. "There is a better chance of that happening than not," Cheek says.

Cheek says he wasn't looking to sell his company, but decided to move forward with the deal after a chance conversation with Steve Wild, the new CEO of the combined company. Cheek maintains that he has a strong connection to Metro Detroit's creative community and only went forward with the deal after he knew it would serve as a local growth opportunity.
