Grand Opening: ACE brings hardware to Beverly Hills

"I definitely think we fill a niche in the market," owner Bill Damman said. "Our average sale is $15 to $20 ... a 'big box' store is looking to sell a kitchen for $15,000."

Located in the Corners Shopping Center at 13 Mile and Southfield, the store celebrates its grand opening this weekend. For Damman, the event is something of a homecoming party. He's a longtime Beverly Hills resident who lived in the area for 30 years before recently moving to Troy.

"The only reason we moved is because the children are all grown up," he said. "But all my friends and neighbors are still in the area - nearly every customer is a familiar face."
